Finally! Pharrel made a videoclip to his 'happy' song. We both love the Steve Carell movie as we can't stop laughing whilst watching the minions. Proud to still appreciate those animated movies I also was a little bit hesitate to post the song in the 'Despicable' version knowing some people would maybe think it's lame and childlike. Thanks to stylish Pharell it didn't took me five minutes to spread the word.
In my opinion it is a real instant happiness song that you just can't get tired of. And Pharell knows as he is the first artist to make a 24! hour song about this happiness. Lot's of love, Laurence
As the student life is getting closer again, it’s time to reinvent my
living situations! So of course I went to Ikea. Once there I couldn’t help
but finish the pathway of cheap deco-heaven without noticing the many big frames with those little images in them. Last summer I saw them everywhere: from secondhand shops to the most expensive interior web shops. This is easy peasy, I thought, I can do this too! And so I
tried. And I have to say that it really was very effortless! Besides everything
that self-made feels way more personal! The result:
few months I always wore some of my vintage watches but I got a bit
tired of them. In the beginning they
were really original but nowadays you can find these vintage watches
everywhere. Though I still like them, I wanted to try out something different.
I thought those metallic ones were pretty cool and I’ve never had one like that
so I went for it. I absolutely adore the watch-collection of Michael Kors. The
choice wasn’t easy! I finally chose this model because I think the colour
rosegold is so cute and super trendy. Because of the bigger size, the watch becomes
even more a statement accessory.

I bought this chain necklace during the sales for only 12 euros. Score!
I got two presents of Chanel! If you're wondering what it is, scroll down a little further.
It is the classic flap bag in quilted lambskin(2.55) and some matching earrings. This is one of those bags that every woman who loves fashion has to own at some point of her life. It is so beautiful, elegant and timeless. I chose this kind of blue because it's still youthful and you can match it with a lot of other colours and it goes perfect with a jeans. The earrings are also quite iconic but the have a special touch, they are in fact made of leather.
The Smokey Blue (158) nail polish by Mavala is great as a finishing touch.
Gabrielle Chanel once said: "Innovation! one cannot be forever innovating. I want to create classics." Well she succeeded. Since the launch of this iconic bag in 1955, women all over the world have been carrying this lovely bag around along with a feeling of elegance and confidence.
went shopping in Brussels and I discovered a new brand called Brandy
Melville. It’s an original Italian brand
but inspired by the L.A. lifestyle. The clothes are casual and very original. They
also have a lot of special accessories like really cool backpacks and lovely
pieces of jewellery. The fun thing about
the clothes is that most of them are a ‘one size’.
decoration of the store is very nice and there is a relaxed atmosphere. I think
I almost spent an hour in the store and I finally bought one dress, three tops,
two bags and some jewellery. Luckily the
prices aren’t too high.
Nowadays the tie & dye trend is totally hot again. You can find it in clothes, jewellery, make-up and hair. Another name for the trend is ombre which is mostly used for the specific hairstyle.
On the internet you can find a lot of video's on how to tie & dye things yourself. I once tried to do my nails in an ombre effect but it wasn't really a big success.(I'm not that handy ...) Luckily Yves Saint Laurent has now invented a nail-polish who does the tie & dye work for you. One bottle of nail-polish contains 3 colours. Apparently you just have to dip the brush in the nail-polish and paint your nail in one lenght. It sounds pretty easy but does it work?
One of my favorite magazines 'Company' is searching for the best style bloggers once again! But now it's the people who get to choose who will win an award. So... I thought why not nominate 'La Petite Extravagence'? I know we just started out and others deserve it more. But hey, we're just trying to get noticed! I nominated us in the category 'best blogging duo'. So please nominate us! Thanks in advance!
This march it was still extremely cold in Belgium. You couldn’t go out without wearing several layers of clothing, a warm coat, some gloves and a scarf. Plus you had to be careful with your shoes because of all the snow. We have to admit that it isn’t always easy and fun to go shopping in such conditions. It takes way longer to get to the stores, it’s cold when you walk outside and it takes like forever to undress yourself with all those layers. Well luckily modern technology has found a solution for this problem. Nowadays you can just snuggle up in your cosy sofa with your laptop and do some online shopping. While drinking a warm cup of tea and a hot chocolate we came across a lot of beautiful clothes on the Internet. We selected our favorite pieces and composed two outfits. What do you think about it?

Apparently the Hand (Khamsa)is a sign of protection that also represents blessings, power, and strength, and is seen as potent in deflecting the evil eye (source: Wikipedia) Well I actually only wear it because I think it's pretty and special but it's always nice to find out about the stories behind the symbols. Hope you learned something new too ;). Lots of love, Charlotte
